East Providence – Gloria T. (Halpin) Nelson, 83, of Newman Avenue, Rumford died unexpectedly Saturday, July 11, 2009 at home. She was the wife of the late William F. Nelson.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late William and Eva (Golden) Halpin, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life before moving to Rumford 4 years ago. She was very devoted to her family.

She was a communicant of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, Pawtucket.

She is survived by her two loving children, Dianne Hardy and her husband, Brian of Springfield, VA and Kevin W. Nelson and his wife, Karen of Cumberland; her two beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Gregory Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Robert Nelson and the sister of the late Joan Iachetti.

Her funeral will be held WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 at 9:30 A.M. from the BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket.
