Madeline T. (DeCotis) DeSantis, 86, of Parker Ave., Newport, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. DeSantis. She was born in New Bedford, MA on March 1, 1923.

Madeline was an avid walker and gardener. She also enjoyed meeting her friends at Newport Creamery.

She is survived by her son Richard J. DeSantis and his wife Susan of Middletown; her grandchildren Jason M. DeSantis of Brunswick, ME, and Tracy Rafferty of Middletown; her great-grandchildren Drew, Mia and Abby DeSantis all of Brunswick, ME; and her brothers Rocky DeCotis and Albert DeCotis both of New Bedford, MA.

She was the sister of the late Jennie Langton and Alfred DeCotis.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009, at 10am in the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport. Burial at Newport Memorial Park, Middletown. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Funeral Service beginning at 9am.
