Lawrence Urban -- East Providence

URBAN, LAWRENCE \"Larry\" 83 of Riverside passed away September 1, 2009. He was the husband of the late Harriet (Adams) Urban.
Born in Warren ,R.I. a son of the late Walter and Rose (Proulx) Urban. Mr Urban was an Electrical Engineer for Narragansett Electric before retiring. He was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1944, and was President of his Class. In 1951 he graduated from Brown University as an Electrical Engineer. He also played Football at Brown University. Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus in East Providence, a member and served as President of the Providence Engineering Society of Electrical Engineers from 1988 to 1989. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II. He was an Avid Golfer.
Mr. Urban is survived by 3 sons; Kenneth D. Urban and wife Maria A. Tasca of Cranston and Narragansett, Mark W. Urban and wife Emmy Urban of Ohio and David L. Urban and wife Janis Urban of Warren R.I. a daughter; Kathleen A. Tabela of Cranston. Grandfather of Teresa Page and O'Linda Tabela and great grandfather of Ashlie and Alexus . He was the brother of Leon Urban of Warren and the late Norman Urban
His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston. Burial will be private. CALLING HOURS SATURDAY MORNING 8-10 a.m. www.WoodlawnGattone.com
