Charles E Morse Sr. -- North Kingstown
North Kingstown – Charles E. Morse Sr. “Smor”, 84, of Stony Lane, died Friday, September 4, 2009 in South County Hospital-Hospice Unit, Wakefield. He was the beloved husband of Mildred E. (Ringman) Morse.
Born in Cranston he was a son of the late Irving W. and Helen F. (Kibbee) Morse and had lived in North Kingstown for twenty-three years previously living in Warwick. He was a US Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He worked as a sales representative for Getty Oil for thirty years before retiring.
Mr. Morse was a member and trustee of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Smithfield and a former chairman of Pioneer Lodge #508 V.O.A. in Cranston.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Charles E. Morse Jr. of Barrington, Gary F. Morse of Millis, MA and Donald D. Morse of Cranston; one daughter Diane C. Homsany of West Greenwich, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Walter and Frederick Morse. He is being remembered as someone who loved to spend time with his family.
Funeral service Tuesday at 11 AM in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, corner of Cedar Swamp & Tunmore Roads, Smithfield. Relatives and friends invited and may call at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick Monday 5-8 PM. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
