John D. DeMello, 55, of Edgewater, Florida, died Wednesday at the Southeast Volusia Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Teresa DeMello.
Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late John and Bessie (McShane) DeMello.
Mr. DeMello was a welder for the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corp. until his retirement in 1989.
He served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was the loving father of Charlene A. Ferreira of Bristol, John D. DeMello, Jr. of Greene, and Justin D. DeMello of Warwick. Caring brother of Elaine Parenteau of East Greenwich, Barbara Condon of Randolph, ME, Judith Copice of Las Vegas, NV, Robin Melancon of Warwick, Patricia Hockhousen of North Providence, Sandra Pignolet of West Warwick, and Theresa Smith of Evansville, IN. Cherished grandfather of three.
His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-8 pm.
