Torrice, Mary (Ianero), 97, died September 27, 2009. She was the wife of the late Fred Torrice. Born in Johnston, where she resided for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Concetta (Nolla) Ianero.

Mary was a member of the Manton Seniors and was an avid bowler, card player, and reader. She also was a wonderful cook, being known for her Italian cookies. Mary adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves two children, Fred Torrice and his wife Joyce of Cranston and Joyce Sauro of Narragansett, her son-in-law, Arthur Donovan of Johnston, two sisters, Josephine Capozza of Providence and Ann Stratton of Ohio, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was mother of the late Cheryl Donovan, mother-in-law of the late Angelo Sauro, and sister of the late Pasco, Louis, and John Ianero.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 11 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
