Allen, Stephen Gary, 57, died on September 28, 2009 at South County Hospital, after a three and one half year battle with Metastatic Melanoma. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Kathleen (Roque) Allen and his devoted sons; Christopher P. of Narragansett, Matthew D. of Kingston, and Gregory B. Allen at home. He also leaves a brother Douglas Allen of Portsmouth, RI, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Stephen was born in Newport, RI, son the late Carl and Florence (Sullivan) Allen. He resided in North Kingstown for the last 21 years, having previously lived in California and Newport. He graduated from Roger Williams University and was employed as a Regional Sales Manager for Roland Digital Corporation, based in Irvine, California. During his eighteen years of employment, Steve received numerous awards and commendations for outstanding sales and service.

He was a communicant of Christ the King Church of Kingston, RI. He was an involved and loving father to his three sons. During his illness, he participated in many clinical research trials in the search for a cure for melanoma. He was, and will continue to be, an inspiration to many.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday October 2, 2009 at 10 AM at Christ the King Church, 180 North Road, Kingston, RI. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 4 – 7 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI. Burial will be at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown, RI.
