Almy (Manfredi) Ciccone -- Providence
CICCONE, ELMIRA \\\"Almy\\\" (Manfredi), 92, of Mercy Street, Providence was called to the loving hands of the Lord, Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Rhode Island Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank A. Ciccone, Jr.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Angelo and Francesca (D\\\'Arezzo) Manfredi. Prior to becoming ill, Mrs. Ciccone was an avid homemaker who ;loved cooking, baking, tending to the needs of her family and her granddaughter, who she adored. Previously she liked to help her late brother Paul in his market, Paul\\\'s Sausage Mart until he was called to final rest. Almy was a member of Post #8 Women\\\'s Auxiliary, Italian American War Veteran\\\'s and a member of the Women\\\'s Auxiliary Italian American War Veterans National Committee.
She was the mother of Frank A. Ciccone III, Robert T. Ciccone, mother-in-law to Elena M. (Bassi) Ciccone of Providence and grandmother to Carla M. Ciccone and her fiance\\\' John Rose of Warwick. She will be missed by her brother-in-law John Rega, sister-in-laws Mrs. Anna Giorgianni, Mrs. Livia DelPonte, Mrs.Eda Tasca, nieces and nephews, her many friends and her loyal dogs Caesar and Gunther, who she cared for daily.
She was the sister of the late Angelo, Paul, Vincent, Isabella Manfredi and Edith Rega.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from \\\"WOODLAWN\\\" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church. Burial will be in St. Ann\\\'s Cemetery, Cranston.
