James F. Taylor, 87, of Jackson Avenue, died Thursday at Briarcliff Manor. He was the beloved husband of Mary (San Souci) Taylor.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Francis H. and Marie (Casey) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was employed with Narragansett Electric from 1956 until his retirement in 1985. He served in The United States Army during WW II.
He was the loving father of Fred T. Taylor of Harleyville, SC, Brian J. Taylor of Wakefield, James J. Taylor of Cranston, Mary E. Pires of Providence, Kathie F. Taylor-Meli of Johnston, and Tricia L. Taylor of San Rafael, CA. Caring brother of Carlo DeRosa of Johnston, Joan DeRosa of Cranston and the late Joseph DeRosa, Dorothy Taylor, and Gloria Cash. Cherished grandfather of fifteen and great grandfather of twelve.
His funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Alzheimer's Disease Research, P.O. Box 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1950 would be appreciated.
