Annette E. (LeComte) Sorel, 104, of Somerset, formerly of Fall River and Neck Rd., Tiverton, widow of Roland E. Sorel, died Friday, October 9, 2009.
She was a member of the former Franco-American Women's Club, the Emblem Club and the Women's Guild of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish,
Tiverton and prior to marriage was manager of the beauty salon at the R.A. McWhirr Co.
“Mim” was the mother of the late Diane A. Weglowski (husband, late Alphonse), Suzanne Y. Morgan (husband Paul) of Rockledge, FL, Pauline R. Ready (husband, late William) of Somerset, MA, Roland P. Sorel (wife Pauline) of Chamblee, GA, Therese L. Holland (husband, late James) of Tiverton, RI., and Roger J. Sorel (wife Elizabeth) of Norcross, GA; the grandmother of John, Dean, and the late Bruce Morgan, Michelle Palframan, Marc Weglowski, Carole Fiola, Nanci Magel, Christine Ready Noonan, Anne, James and Jeremiah Holland, Mary Holland Zeller, Katherine Sitten, Elizabeth Gallof, and Paul, Roland, James, Michael and Christopher Sorel: the great-grandmother of Brady Weglowski, Alexandra and Lauren Fiola, Matthew and Rosalie Magel, Vanessa and Jessica Morgan, Christopher Palframan, Chase, Chelsea and Chad Sitten, Ryan and Amanda Gallof, Nicholas, Casey Marie, Cody, Jake, Will and Jack Sorel, Bailey and Dylan Holland, Paul and Michael Zeller: the daughter of the late Alphonse and Doria (Tetu) LeComte and the sister of the late Florian and Roger LeComte
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, Somerset at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Condolence Messages
Aunt Annette was a great lady. She is fondly in our hearts forever. It is fitting that such a fine person was the last representative of her generation, that generation of so many Sorels, including my mother. At her 100th birthday celebration, the evidence of her - and Uncle Roland's - legacy was there for all to see and to astound, an event that we, and surely, all those present, will always remember. Anita joins me in sending heartfelt condolences to all.
