Alexander Plascik -- Cranston

Woodlawn Funeral Home PIASCIK, ALEXANDER; 89 husband of the late Josephine (Ruszala) Piascik, he was born in Hope Valley, R.I. He was the son of the late Leon and Helen Piascik, brother of the late Mary Kupis,Chester Piascik and Stacia Pardo. Because his father moved the family to Poland before his first birthday, his early years were spent there. At age 17, he borrowed money and returned to his native land, America. Arriving during the depths of the depression, he taught himself, English and found work. He fought in World war II serving in the US Army in England, Belgium and France including Normandy Beach. He instilled in his children the value of higher education, the power of prayer and love of GOD. He leaves behind the following loving family: daughter Joan H. Piascik, son Chester Piascik and wife Francine, grandson David A. Piascik, grandson Christopher Piascik and wife Jessica, granddaughter Linda Daley and husband Edward, great grandson Jacob Peter Piascik, great granddaughter Taegan Francine Daley and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from \\\'\\\'WOODLAWN\\\'\\\' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10. a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann\\\'s Cemetery. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY MORNING 9:30 - 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers ,donations in his memory may be made to Holy Apostles Memorial Fund, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston, R.I. 02921
