Maher, Mary J. “Jackie” (Perry), 86, died October 18, 2009 at Roger Williams Medical Center. Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Theresa A. (Foley) Perry. She had lived in North Providence for 58 years, previously residing in East Providence.

Mary was a registered nurse at Roger Williams Hospital before retiring. She was active in the Girl Scouts.

She leaves three daughters, Barbara Maher of Palm Springs, CO, Margaret Romanovich of Smithfield, and Mary Marsh of North Providence, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William I. Maher Jr. and sister of the late Sr. Mary Ludivine, RSM and Robert S. Perry II.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 8:30-9:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864.
