Thorn, John J., 75, died October 16, 2009 at Golden Crest Nursing Center. He was the husband of Josephine (Rocchio) Thorn.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Dorothy (Westerberg) Thorn and brother of the late Raymond Thorn.

John worked in various management positions until retiring. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he leaves six daughters, Rose L. King, Cheryl A. Walters, Jacquelyn B. Scott, Christine J. Thorn, Laurie K. Lindsay, and Dana G. Thorn, and ten grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours Tuesday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Hospital General Post Fund, 830 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI 02908.
