East Providence – Robert L. Dube, Sr., 84, of Rumford, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Grivers) Dube for 61 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph A. and Augusta E. (McCormick) Dube, he resided in Rumford since 1956. Bob was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed by New England Power, now National Grid for 41 years before retiring as Coordinator of Material Management in 1987. Bob was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Pope John 23rd Council, where he served as finance secretary for fifteen years. He served as President of the Rumford Columbus Club for three years. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Robert L. Dube, Jr. and his wife Arlene of Cumberland; a daughter, Susan M. O’Connor and her husband Bernard of Rehoboth; two grandchildren, Bryan R. Dube and Kaitlyn G. O’Connor; a brother, Joseph Dube of Scituate; two sisters, Margaret Stewart of No. Providence and Marie Barlow of Florida. He was the brother of the late William Dube, Paul Dube, Barbara Bishop and Madeline Fandetti. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Interment will follow at Mt.
