BOVIS, MARY (Alexander) 87 of Warwick passed away October 21, 2009 at Greenwood House Nursing Home, Warwick, She was the wife of the late Hercules Bovis. Born in New Bedford, MA. a daughter of the late Theodoro and Helen (Bourikas) Alexander. Mrs Bovis grew up in Kalamata, Greece returning to R.I. in 1959. She was co-owner with her late husband of the former Washington Lunch in Providence. She previously worked as an assembler for the former Speidel Jewelry Co. She was a communicant of the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox in Cranston.
She was the beloved mother of Thomas Bovis and his wife Wendy of North Kingstown, and Theodora Bovis-Koch and her husband Douglas of Newton, MA. Loving grandmother of Eric and Alexandra. She was the sister of the late Efstathia Fidas
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from \'\'WOODLAWN\'\' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a service at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox, Cranston,. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY 5-8 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston, R.I.
