Arruda, John, 80, of Orford St., died October 21, 2009 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Jeannette B. (Gauthier) Arruda. Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel and Elizabeth Arruda.

John was a machinist at A.T. Cross of Lincoln for 20 years before retiring.

Besides his wife, he leaves two grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kenneth Arruda, and a daughter-in-law, Sheila Arruda, all of North Providence. He was the father of the late Kenneth J. and Catherine Y. Arruda.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Church of the Presentation. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Friday 6-8 pm.
