Smithfield – Edna A. Ramsden, 93, of Sunset Drive, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Hebert Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Ramsden.

Born in Johnston, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Edna (Angell) Fassel, she had lived in Pawtucket for fifty-five years before moving to Smithfield to live with her daughter, Meredith, in July of 1996.

She worked for twenty years in the office of the Grinnell Corporation before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Greater Rhode Island Baptist Temple in Johnston and a member of the Thomas Angell Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith A. Kirkendall, Gail E. Ashworth, and Meredith L. Sirois, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was the sister of the late Lillian F. Broome.
