Pawtucket – Barbara A. (Holden) Laird, 85, of Benefit Street died Friday, October 23, 2009 at home. She was the wife of the late James C. Laird.

Born in East Providence, a daughter of the late William and Irene (Armour) Holden, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life.

A lifelong member of Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk, MA, she was a Sunday School teacher for 33 years and Sunday School Superintendent at the former Memorial Baptist Church, Pawtucket as well as Assistant Superintendent of Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk until her retirement due to illness. She was a former choir member, long-range planning committee member, secretary and member of the Diaconate Board and secretary of the Board of Trustees.

She graduated from Pawtucket East High School and Kenyon Commercial School.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Britland and her husband, Glenn of Seekonk, MA and Barbara Plante of Pawtucket; one son, James W. Laird and his wife, Claire of Pawtucket; two sisters, Muriel Morris of Hudson, NH and Beverly Holbrook of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, David Britland, Tara-Lyn Flanagan, Amie Plante, Kevin Laird and Heather Camara; one great granddaughter, Cassidy-Lyn Flanagan; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ruth Taber.

A Memorial Service will be held WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 at 12 Noon at Memorial Baptist Church, 340 Central Avenue, Seekonk, MA. Private burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
