Warwick - Louise S. (Tufte) Redstone, 92, of 50 Warwick Ave., died October 20, 2009, in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the widow of Norman K. Redstone.
Mrs. Redstone was born in Glendive, MT a daughter of the late Olaf B. and Alma J. (Larsen) Tufte and had been a resident of Warwick for the past sixty years.
Mrs. Redstone had been an active member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick in the music program, singing for many years in the Church Choir, directed the Choir for several years and was Directress of the Church Altar Guild. She was a graduate of St. Olaf College MN, Class of 1939, sang in the College Choir and later directed the St. Olaf Women’s Choir. She was a music teacher in the Providence School System from 1962 until she retired in 1978 and was a volunteer in the I.M.H. music program.
She is survived by her daughter Kim Hawkins of Warwick, her son Eric P. Redstone of Cranston, three sisters Esther Rian of Honolulu, Margaret A. Anderson of Gig Harbor, WA, Helen Andrewson of San Diego, CA and her granddaughter Rebecca M. Redstone of Cranston.
A memorial service will be Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2 PM in the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI. Private interment in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Warwick.
