Steven S Johansen -- Coventry

Steven S. Johansen, 47, of Hill Street, Coventry, died Monday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lisa A. (Capalbo) Johansen.

Born in Providence, he was a devoted son of Walter C. and Joan A. (McGovern) Johansen of Scituate.

Steven was a Correctional Officer for the A.C.I. and was a member of the R.I. Brotherhood of Correctional Officers. He was a graduate of West Warwick High School and attended Stonehill College and U.R.I. He was also a member of the F.O.P. and Pine Tree Gun Club.

He was the loving father of Lance Cpl. Zachary J. Johansen U.S.M.C., Joshua K. “Bubba” Johansen, and Kelsey A. Johansen, all of Coventry. Caring brother of Erik C. Johansen of West Greenwich. Cherished grandson of Antoinette McGovern of Johnston.

His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-8 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The Coventry Teacher's Alliance Scholarship Fund, 40 Reservoir Rd., Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated.
