Charles J Harrop -- Pawtucket

William W. Tripp Funeral Home Pawtucket ~ Charles J. Harrop, 74, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009. He was the former husband of Elaine (Drapeau) Harrop. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ware) Harrop. He was the Salutatorian of the graduating class of 1953 at St. Raphael Academy, and was a U.S. Army veteran. A sprinkler fitter for the past 45 years he was a member of UA Local 550 and a former member of UA Locals 715 and 669. Mr. Harrop was a lifelong member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Pawtucket, and a Past-President and coach of Pawtucket Youth Hockey. Besides his former wife he leaves four children, Scott Harrop of Pawtucket, Robyn Hamaker, James and Christopher Harrop all of Smithfield; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 699 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
