Coventry – Danny W. Dayton, 50, of Knotty Oak Shores, died suddenly on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was for thirty-two years the beloved husband of Lucille C. “Lucy” (Ciano) Dayton.
Born in Modesto, CA he had lived in Coventry for the past twenty-six years. As a member of Teamster’s Union Local 251 he was a truck driver who for the last eight years was working at Fleet Construction of Cumberland.
Danny loved the water, especially Johnson’s Pond, and was always to be found on one of his boats. He loved to camp and fish, was a jokester and loved his dogs, Rio, Zach and Missy.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Denice “Dee” Dayton of Warwick. He is being remembered by his family as someone who was always there for everybody, as a very genuine person and true friend and as a great husband and father.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 3 at 7:00 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Calling hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
