Jimmy Folco -- Smithfield

Folco, Jimmy J. Sr., 61, of Smithfield, died October 30, 2009 at the VA Medical Center. He leaves behind a large family and many friends who are deeply saddened by his passing. He was and always will be the beloved son of the late Louis and Lena Folco. He was the father of Jimmy Jr. and the late Domenic Folco, grandfather of Jimmy, Louis, Domenic, and Nicholas, great-grandfather of Felix, brother of Louis, Carl, Danny, Ann, and Thomas Folco, Irene Esposito, Lisa Fenna, and the late Lois and Rosemary Folco.

A proud combat veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the DAV and VFW. He was a proud member of the Smithfield Fire Department, where he served as a volunteer, and then as a full-time firefighter and EMTC. Jimmy was a member of the Salt Water Anglers Club and enjoyed fishing in all waters. He also was an accomplished chef.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael Church, Georgiaville. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-8 pm.
