Marguerite "Peg" L (Marcoux) Sword -- Lincoln

Lincoln – Marguerite L. “Peg” (Marcoux) Sword, 91, of Sayles Hill Road, Manville died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Elvin A. Sword and the former wife of the late Raymond E. Messier, Sr.

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Marie (Moyen) Marcoux, she had lived in Lincoln for the past 58 years.

Mrs. Sword worked at the former Walmsley’s Fish & Chips, Lincoln for 10 years before becoming the snack bar manager at Ann & Hope, Cumberland for 15 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of St. Jude’s Church, Lincoln.

She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Mercier and her husband, Paul of Blackstone, MA and Marie Otto and her husband, Walter of Lincoln; one son, Raymond E. Messier, Jr. and his wife, Fatima of Sandwich, MA; one sister, Blanche Lafleur and one brother, Alphonse Marcoux, both of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lucien and Joseph Marcoux.

Her funeral will be held TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 at 8:45 A.M. from the BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
