Robert J. Mann, Jr., 72, of Tripps Corner Road, Exeter, died Saturday at South County Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. (Snow) Mann for 49 years.

Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Robert J. Mann, Sr. and Beatrice (Algren) Mann. Mr. Mann was the caretaker for the Metcalf Family Estate in Exeter for 27 years until his retirement and had served in The United States Navy. He graduated from North Kingstown High School, class of 1955. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Exeter where he served as a head trustee.

Mr. Mann also managed a little league team in Exeter and served as a Cub Scout leader.

He was the loving father of Robert J. Mann, III and his wife Lori of Coventry, Carol A. Amaral and her husband Dennis of West Warwick, and Kevin W. Mann of West Warwick. Caring brother of James Mann of Arizona and Thomas Mann of Manchester, CT. Cherished grandfather of seven and great grandfather of two.

His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in Liberty Baptist Church, 279 Liberty Church Road, Exeter. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-8 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Liberty Baptist Church, 279 Liberty Church Rd., Exeter, RI 02822 or The American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
