East Greenwich - Joseph P. Ferrucci, Esq., 45, of Miss Fry Drive died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. He was the loving husband of Leslie (Manning) Ferrucci.
Born in Providence, he was a son of John B. and Filomina (Rosati) Ferrucci of Glocester.
He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He graduated from Suffolk University Law School cum laude in 1989 and was Executive Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review (1988-1989). After a Federal District Court clerkship and professional practice, he founded Ferrucci Russo P.C., Providence. Joseph was one of the foremost court-appointed receivers in the State of Rhode Island. His talents in that area allowed for the reorganization of several companies which resulted in the savings of hundreds of jobs and preserving considerable investment in the State of Rhode Island. Joe was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Civil Procedure and most recently was selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights Law. He was a member of the Rhode island/Massachusetts and American Bar Associations.
Joe’s relationship and devotion to his family, friends and clients are what he held so dearly. His standard of excellence was unparalleled. His devotion, generosity and daily acts of selfless kindness were the fiber of his being and made him the man that we all love. He gave his time so willingly to everyone in need and made each and everyone he touched feel important and special. He was a caring and compassionate husband, father, son, brother, friend and partner. He is loved dearly and will be forever missed.
Besides his wife and parents, he was the beloved father of Gabriella, Samantha and Hunter Ferrucci, all at home; one sister, Lisa Popper of Connecticut; and one brother, John M. Ferrucci of Glocester; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 3-8 p.m. at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL 160 River Rd. Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to The Joseph P.
