Edward R Laby -- Smithfield
Laby, Edward R., 41, of Douglas Pike, died November 5, 2009 at home. Born in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of Anna May (Chmura) Scanlon of Smithfield and the late Richard E. Laby. He had lived in Smithfield since 1990.
Edward had worked as a field service engineer for Beckman-Coulter Company for the past five years, previously working at Cherry Semiconductor, now ON Semiconductor, for ten years. He was a graduate of New England Tech, a member of the Stonybrook Rifle Club, and an avid bass fisherman.
Besides his mother, he leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Sunday 2-5 pm.
