Isabelle M. (McGinness) Blanchette, 88, of Lincoln, died Thursday at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Leo A. Blanchette. Born in Scotland, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Ewing) McGinness. Mrs. Blanchette was employed as a daycare worker at St. Francis Daycare Center in Manville prior to her retirement. She previously worked as a textile worker in the Blackstone Valley garment industry. She was a member of the International Garment Workers Union. She also served as a Girl Scout leader for both St. Edward and St. Jean the Baptist Churches for over 35 years. She was a member of Cumberland Seniors and the Golden Agers of St. Mathew Church. Mrs. Blanchette was also a past president of Lincoln Manor Tenants Assn. She is survived by her daughter Mary Costa of Cumberland, her son Leo A. Blanchette Jr. of Central Falls, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was the sister of the late Steven, William and Robert McGinness who had resided in the Blackstone Valley area and 9 other brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., E. Providen
