Emile A. Auger -- Fall River

Emile A. Auger, 87, formerly of King Philip St. and “The Landmark”, Fall River, husband of the late Rita C. (Rousseau) Auger, died Friday, July 16, 2010.

An Army veteran of WW II and Bronze Star Medal recipient, he served in North Africa, Italy and Southern France. A self-employed Master Plumber, licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, he was educated at St. Anne School, BMC Durfee High School, Herrick’s Business Institute, Diman Vocational School and Old Colony Trade School.

He was Fall River Housing Authority Director of Management, Fall River Water Filtration Plant Clerk of the Works, Relocation Specialist for the Western Expressway Project, and the HUD King Philip Enforcement Project.

He was a member of the National Assn. of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors, Fall River Master Plumbers Assn., Local 77 of the United Assn. of Plumbers and Steamfitters, American Legion, Franco American War Veterans, St. Anne Fraternity and Fall River Lodge of Elks.

He was the father of Helene Auger (fiancé Raymond Leary) of Fall River, Charles Auger of Providence, RI and the late Claudette Maltais and Simone Auger; the father-in-law of Paul Maltais of Beverly, MA; the grandfather of Danielle Povey (husband James), Andre Maltais (wife Kelley) and Jacques Maltais (wife Amanda); the great-grandfather of Lillian, Charlotte and Adrienne Povey and Nicholas Maltais; the son of the late Joseph and Marie Laura (Belanger) Auger; and the brother of the late Roland, Paul, Raymond and Donald Auger, Mary Jane Coles, Annette Tokarz and Pauline Raines.

His funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
