Ray A. Medley, 65 a lifelong resident of Barrington, died Friday February 24, 2012 at his home in, Barrington.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Grace E. (Bosworth) and Arthur R. Medley a past grand master of the R. I. Masons. Ray was a Freelance Photographer for the East Bay Newspapers, and was a pyrotechnician licensed in RI, MA and NH. for the TelStar Display Fireworks. Ray had served as Worshipful Master eight times and secretary of Washington Lodge # 3, of Warren and was a member of St. John’s Lodge of Portsmouth. He served as treasurer of the Secretaries Guild. He was a member of the Federal Blues of Warren, RI Militia, Massasoit Historical Society, was a volunteer member of the Hamden Meadows Fire Dept. Barrington, a former member of the Barrington Yacht Club, a member of the board of South Cemetery, Warren and a collector of trains.
He is survived by his brother, Bruce G. Medley and his wife Erica of Portsmouth and his cousin Judy Adams of Clearwater, FL
Graveside services will be Friday March 2 at 10 am at the South Cemetery, Sowanset Avenue, Warren. Calling hours with a Masonic Memorial Service will be Thursday from 6-8pm at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick.
