Gladys F (Mandella) Connor -- Providence

Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home Gladys F. (Mandella) Connor, 78, of Providence passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at home. She was the beloved wife of William F. Connor, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Chiarian (Cataldo) Mandella.

Mrs. Connor was a dietitian for the V.A. Regional Medical Center in Providence for 18 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Johnston Senior Center and A.A.R.P.

She was the loving mother of Michael A.Connor, Richard S. Connor and William F. Connor, Jr., all of Providence, Patricia Aznavoorian of Johnston and the late Robert Connor. Loving grandmother of four. Caring sister of Anthony Mandella of East Providence, Mary Mandella of Deltona, Florida and the late Ella Zelano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00 am in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 5-7 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914 are appreciated.

Grandma to me you will always be alive in my heart and in my mind, I love you more than words can describe, you may have been my grandmother but to me you were my mother and you always will be, today there is a void in my heart that will never be filled, I made a lot of mistakes but no matter what you always stood by me, stood up for me, loved me and had hope for me when no one else did, cared for me when I was sick, gave me love and affection, there are no words to describe what you mean to me, I'm sorry for the mistakes I've made in the past, but because of you and you alone I am the man that I am today, I wish that I could see you one last time, maybe someday we will be together again, I love you rest in peace and safe journey into heaven because that's were a woman like you belongs, your in a much better place now, no more suffering, just peace, I hope I can live up to what you wanted me to be, I hope I can make you proud of me. Love you today, tommorow and for the rest of my life, your loving and grateful grandson Derick, ( it was a blessing to know you, watch over me and my family)
