Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and White Dove Crematory Warwick - Dale L. Johnson, 82, of Cove Avenue died Sunday, December 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Miriam G. (Sundin) Johnson who he met on a blind date in 1952 and married on May 1, 1954.

He was a member of Norwood Baptist Church in Warwick. Dale loved being outdoors especially tending to the gardens and landscaping in his yard. When not working in the yard or waxing his cars he could be found walking around the neighborhood, mostly for the exercise but also to catch up on all the latest news. He enjoyed swimming at McDermott Pool, riding his bicycle, and frequent road trips to Point Judith with his wife and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters: Sandra L. Johnson of Warwick and Stacey L. Morin and her husband Steven of Warwick; one son: Stuart D. Johnson and his wife Patricia of North Kingstown; one sister: Dianne Baxter of Swanzey, NH; seven grandchildren: Shannon & Paige Johnson, Mathieu Blanchet, Kayla & Kyle Morin, Meaghan Schobert and Kyle Seymour and three great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Susan M. Johnson and brother of the late Donald Johnson whose wife is Nancy of Seattle, WA.

His family will remember Dale as a kind and gentle man with a sense of humor and a quick wit. A true inspiration, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
