Joseph Messier -- West Warwick

Prata-Murphy Funeral Home Joseph Messier, 90, of West Warwick passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Coventry Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Jacques) Messier. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Francois X. and Alexandrina (LeBrun) Messier.

Mr. Messier was employed at the Pontiac Mill in Warwick and served in The United States Army during WW II.

He was the loving father of David Messier and his wife Theresa, Robert Messier and his wife Betty and Jean Chadwick and her husband Jerome, all of West Warwick. Caring brother of George Messier of Warwick, Rosa Gamelin of Tennessee, Loretta Beauchaine of West Warwick, Cecile Noel of New Hampshire and the late John, Theodore and Antonio Messier and Marie Hebert. Cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of eleven.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ The King Church, 120 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 6-8 pm.
