Amelia M. Velis, 52, of Warren Street, Providence, RI, passed away on January 21, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Home and Hospice Center, in Providence, RI. Born on October 29, 1960 in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Betty (Haney) Jennings.
Amelia was a loving homemaker to her family. She is survived by her four daughters; Theodora V. Jennings, Elaine Minaya, Rosalia Velis and Ashley Jennings. In addition to her daughters, she is survived by a brother; Samuel Renaeu Jennings, a sister; Sunnie Karen LaFreniere and two grandchildren; Victoria and Julian Jennings. She was predeceased by her brother; Emanuel L. Jennings.
Her services are private and are under the direction of Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
