James E Bailey, Jr. -- Warwick

Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home James E. Bailey, Jr., 82, of Warwick passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Betty M. (Whitehead) Bailey. Born in East Greenwich, he was a son of the late John E. Bailey, Sr. and Lulu M. (Wesson) Bailey.

Mr. Bailey was a Supervisor for the United States Postal Service, Apponaug Station, from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. He served as a Staff Sergeant in The United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church and a member of the Apponaug Old Timers.

He was the beloved father of Lynne A. Taylor of Warwick and Carol A. Branch of West Warwick. Caring brother of Patricia A. Pontarelli of Warwick. Loving grandfather of four.

His funeral will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 8:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
