Condolence Messages
It was an honor to know Sherri in the last few months of her life. Little did I know that when I met her only last summer that she wouldn't last another year. She was so full of life and was very comfortable to be around--like putting on a comfortable shoe! She seemed very compassionate and displayed a beautiful spirit the moment I met her. A truly Divine being. She became very fond of my trio, JeeZ LaWeeZ, and came to hear us on several occasions. Right before she left New Mexico for the last time we visited her in her hospital room in Albuquerque and gave her a personal concert, including all of her favorite songs. She denied any pain medication while we were there, so she wouldn't fall asleep for the occasion. We tried very hard to swallow the tears that kept coming up and we wound up singing to her for nearly two hours! The whole experience was truly sublime -- the gift was ours as well as hers. We'll never forget that day or her. Sherri's spirit is floating all around now and I know she's in a beautiful and peaceful place where there is no sickness or pain. Only unconditional Love. Fly on, Sherri!
-- With best regards to the ones left behind, Katie G (02/06/13)
