John Silantien, 91, formerly of Dawson St., died Wednesday in the Evergreen House health Center, East Providence. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Mularz) Silantien.
Born in Fall River he was the son of the late John and Mary (Zielinska) Silantien. He resided in Pawtucket most of his life.
He was a truck driver employed by the Woodlawn Laundry Co., for many years until his retirement. He was also a member of the Teamsters.
He was a WW II, U. S. Army veteran serving in the European Theatre and participated in "The Battle of the Bulge."
He leaves a daughter, Carolyn Adams of West Greenwich, and a son, Dr. John Silantien of Helotus, TX, Four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
