Doris M (Robarge) Abbott -- Warwick

Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home Abbott, Doris M. (Robarge), 87, of Covington Drive, a homemaker, died Thursday at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. She was the former wife of Raymond H. Abbott.

Born in Providence, the daughter of the late G. Herbert and Mabel E. (Sparks) Robarge, Mrs. Abbott was a life long resident of Warwick. She was a graduate of Lockwood High School Class of 1937 and a graduate of Edgewood Secretarial School.

She was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church serving as Church Bookkeeper for over 25 years. She served three terms as President of the Women's Council of the Church and was active for many years as a volunteer for the church outreach groups. She also served for 11 years as a volunteer in the Chaplains Office at Kent Hospital.

Mrs. Abbott is survived by her devoted children, Linda R. Antonucci and her husband Raymond A. of Cranston and Raymond H. Abbott, Jr. (Sgt. USAF) and his wife Gail L. of Andrews A.F.B. Maryland. She was the cherished grandmother of Derek R. Abbott, Erica M. Abbott, and Heather L. Lee. She was the beloved great grandmother of five.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a service in the Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Park, North Kingstown.
