FITZGERALD, JANE M. (COLEMAN), 79, of Cedar Grove Dr., passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at Roberts Health Center, North Kingstown.
She was the wife of Edward “Ted” FitzGerald. They had been married for 59 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward C. and Dorothy L. (Collins) Coleman. She had been a resident of Exeter since 1969.
Mrs. FitzGerald began as a postal clerk at the Exeter Post Office and later became it’s Postmaster before retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Besides her husband she leaves her four children, Kathleen M. Dempsey of Shrewsbury, NJ, Mary Jane Forget of Coventry, Edward FitzGerald, Jr. of Exeter and Maureen A. Lewis of Naples, FL; two brothers, Edward C. Coleman of Belle Mead, NJ and George L. Coleman of East Greenwich; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Sister M. Jane Coleman, RSM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at 12 noon in St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown. Interment will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions to VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Ln., Warwick, 02886 or Mt.
