Roger J. Mercier, 77, of Little Compton, RI, husband of the late Lorraine (Smith) Mercier, died Saturday, October 6, 2007.

Survivors include 6 children, Robert Mercier, Leonard Mercier and Rosanne Mercier, all of Little Compton, Roger S. Mercier of Tiverton, RI and Donna Hill and William Mercier, both of Portsmouth, RI; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Henry Mercier of Westport, MA and Evelyn Gagnon and Theresa Marcoux, both of Fall River and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Leonard and Lucienne (Simoneau) Mercier and the brother of the late Leopold, Arthur, Patrick, Robert and Norman Mercier.

A 46 year employee of Stop & Shop Supermarkets, he enjoyed home carpentry, yard work, greyhound racing and playing cards and horseshoes.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial, Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Compton.
