BRAIN, Margaret A. (Mitchell), 63, of Block Island, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. She was the wife of the late John I. Brain.

Born on Block Island, a daughter of the late Wilbur J. and Virginia M. (Randall) Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of Block Island.

She leaves a daughter, Tabetha A. Benton of Dayville, CT; a sister, Maureen M. Quackenbush of Block Island; five brothers, Thomas and James Mitchell, both of Block Island, Donald, David and William Mitchell, all of Cranston, two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and three grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Frederick Mitchell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, Mar. 3, 2008 at 12:30 pm in the Harbor Baptist Church, Water St., Block Island followed by a service at 1 pm. Interment will be in Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the “Mary D Fund”, The Block Island Rescue Squad or the Block Island Medical Center in her memory would be appreciated.
