Rushton, Joan, 81, of Putnam Pike, died Ocotber 4, 2008 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Frank Rushton. Born in Shropshire, England, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Mae (Jones) Elsley.

Joan worked as a LPN for the State of RI before retiring from Eleanor Slater Hospital in 1988. She was a graduate of the RI School of Practical Nursing.

She leaves two children, Valerie M. Rushton of Chepachet and Kevin F. Rushton of North Kingstown and five grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private.
