Marcus "Mark" C Benedict -- Block Island

BENEDICT, Marcus C. “Mark”, 93, of Payne Rd., passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at home.

He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Jones) Benedict. They had been married for 69 years. Born in Doylestown, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Rebecca (Weckesser) Benedict.

Mr. Benedict was an aeronautical engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of East Hartford, CT. for many years before retiring in 1977.

Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Ann B. Johnson of Alberta, CA., Sharon Bash of San Francisco, CA., Gail B. Bain of Bellevue, WA. and Faye F. Benedict of Tordal, Norway. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald O., Walter J., Frank C. Benedict and Florence Frette.

His funeral will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Block Island Medical Center, P.O.
