John F. “Jack”Barrett, 70 of North Kingstown, died Tuesday July 7, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Elaine (Ruez) Barrett.

Born in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late Martin and Bridie (Joyce) Barrett. Mr. Barrett was the owner of J. Barrett Reports, Inc. He had been a basketball coach for the Coventry and CYO basketball leagues, was an avid golfer and past president of the Shannon View Golf League.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Sean C. Barrett of Warwick, daughter Cara Barrett Bishop of Walpole, MA , sister Eleanor Hoy of Studio City, CA and two brothers Martin Barrett of Ft, Meyers, FL and Gerald Barrett of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Barrett.

The funeral will be from the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick Saturday at 8:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown at 10am. Calling hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers donations to The Lighthouse Foundation or VNS of Narragansett will be appreciated.
